    OVERVIEW: Identity works with thousands of Latino and other underserved young people and their families living in high poverty neighborhoods across Montgomery County, Maryland after school, in the community and on playing fields to improve their social-emotional wellbeing, achieve academic success, and prepare for work with trauma-informed programs and wraparound services.

    SERVICES:
    1) YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Offers school-based programs (in-school, after-school, and summer programs) for elementary, middle and high school students at around 14 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). Provides academic support, college/career exploration, engagement activities (arts, field trips, recreation), Student Service Learning opportunities and social and emotional skills building. Also provides parent engagement and family strengthening and reunification programs, and referrals for basic social services and mental health services.

    2) MENTORING: Provides a soccer mentoring program to youth for recreation and teamwork skills building at school sites throughout the county.

    3) CASE MANAGEMENT: Assists individuals with basic needs. Some concerns include but are not limited to food, clothing, housing and medical care. Will also assist with other safety net services.

    4) MENTAL HEALTH: Provides in-house individual and family counseling, and referrals to other mental health providers.

    5) PARENT ENGAGEMENT: Offers parenting skills and family reunification programs, as well as empowering families with information and skills to interact with schools and local government.

    6) NON-CLINICAL COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH: To help young people and families manage the tremendous mental health impacts of trauma, including Covid-19 traumas and those specific to immigration, Identity has trained non-clinical staff and community members to co-facilitate support groups offered in English and Spanish to cover strategies to help manage anxiety, stress, despair and grief in a non-clinical, community groups.
