OVERVIEW: Promotes healthy birth outcomes, positive parenting, along with child health and development available to expecting moms in their first trimester up to two weeks after delivery.
SERVICES: 1) IN HOME VISITS: Family assessment worker, case manager provides primarily in home care coordination, linking participants to individualized services. Pregnant and postpartum women receive information and referrals for addictions and family planning services. Parents are taught how to cope with their drug exposed newborns.
2) INFANTS and TODDLERS: Newborns to 5 year olds are evaluated for signs/symptoms of developmental delay, behavioral problems and other related health issues. If appropriate these children are referred to the Infants and Toddlers program for therapeutic services or they may continue to be monitored for signs/symptoms of late onset of developmental delay related to substance exposure.
3) LEAD POISONING: Educates and provides resources concerning lead poisoning issues.
