    BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Provides mental health services to county residents ages 3 and above. Offers a substance abuse prevention program as well as an out-patient program and residential treatment facilities for adults who are chemically dependent. 

    SERVICES:
    -- ASSESSMENT: Serves as a first step to obtaining treatment. Level of care will be determined and appropriate referrals will be given. 

    --  PREVENTION SERVICES: Promotes and implements prevention and intervention strategies to reduce the impact of substance use disorders, such as underage alcohol use, prescription drug misuse and abuse, and illicit drug use.

    -- OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM: A variety of services are offered, including individual, family, and group therapy along with medication evaluation and monitoring. Intensive outpatient services are offered for adults and children along with Mobile Treatment Services. School based services are provided in all of the schools in Allegany County.

    --  OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE PROGRAM: Provides assessment and treatment services to individuals and families experiencing chemical dependency and chemical abuse. Services include an intensive outpatient program, AA/NA meetings, gambling counseling, jail substance abuse program, care coordination, after treatment (continuing care) program, peer counseling, crisis intervention, individual, family and group counseling, DWI Program, adolescent group counseling, education and referral services.

    --RESIDENTIAL ADDICTIONS FOR ADULTS 18 AND ABOVE: (Allegany House)-Serves 8 males and 6 females in a halfway house setting. Length of stay is on an individualized basis. Provides a stable home environment that assists individuals in a sober lifestyle. Provides counseling, job training, referral and supportive services.

    -- NALOXONE TRAINING: Offers an educational program that includes an understanding of opioids, recognizing signs and symptoms of an overdose, proper rescue breathing techniques, proper administration of naloxone, and care for the individual until the paramedics arrive. Individuals must be 18 and older. Provides to family members, caregivers, guardians, and health/human service workers. Call for the Overdose Response Training days and times.

    -- GAMBLING COUNSELING: Offers evaluation for gambling disorders and treatment.

    Intake and Eligibility: Individuals who are chemically dependent and their families. Mental Health services provided for the homeless, have been released from a Maryland Psychiatric hospital in the past 90 days, incarcerated in the last 90 days, receiving Social Security Disability Insurance for mental health reasons, are on conditional release, or served by the public mental health system in the past 2 years.
