ART COUNCIL: Provides advocacy, promotes monthly exhibits and opportunities for local artists, host opening receptions for exhibiting artists, promotes The Gallery Shop at the Council as a retail destination, expands student opportunities to meet exhibiting artists, offer exhibit opportunities to students (elementary, middle, high school and college) and utilizes social networking to promote local art efforts. Offers funding through the Community Arts Development granting program, funding and support for the Arts in Education program, the community “arts” calendar and the artist Registry. Also supports the Western Maryland Blues Fest, Blues in the Schools, Augustoberfest, City Park Summer Series and Encounter at City Park.
