    PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Provides free, traditional educational programs for students of all abilities from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Includes 5 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 1 intermediate school, 3 high schools, and a career and technology center. Also offers special education and adult education.

    -After School Program: Provides homework assistance daily. The focus is on reading and math skills. The program is for 2 1/2 hours and some transportation may be available to take students home. Call for more information and registration.

    -Bullying Prevention: Offers a comprehensive program that include awareness and early prevention. Brochures are provided to students and parents during the course of each school year.

    -Food Services: Offers free or reduced fee breakfast and lunch programs to students who qualify. The income guidelines are set by the federal government and have been adopted across the state.

    -Homeless Children: Parents who are homeless should contact their Homeless Education Liaison to assist their child in attaining proper support and education. Call 410-635-5079.

    -Special Education : Provides an appropriate education for children from birth to age 21 who are in need of special services because of cognitive, emotional or physical limitations. Contact: Glen Hammerbacher at 410-632-5034 for more information.

    -Student Services: Psychologists, guidance counselors and pupil personnel workers offer emotional and educational guidance counseling and psychological testing and services. Call Dr. Aaron Dale, Supervisor of Student Services at 410-632-5089.

    -Summer Food Service Program: Offers free breakfast and or lunch to school aged kids under the age of 18 during the summer months. There are different sites throughout the county. For a listing of local sites, go to www.mdsummermeals.org.
