    OVERVIEW: Provides a wide range of housing related services to assist residents of Queen Anne's County to acquire and maintain decent safe and affordable housing.

    1) MARYLAND HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM (MHRP): Assists low to moderate income households in the county through a state program of low-interest loans for repair/renovation of properties. Applicants must meet income guidelines.

    2) CODE ENFORCEMENT: Enforces housing codes in Queen Anne's County.

    3) CRITICAL WORKFORCE PROGRAM: Offers second mortgage financing to new home buyers who meet the programs guidelines. The loan cannot exceed 33% of the total purchase price or the appraised value of the home and property whichever is less.  

    4) SENIOR CITIZEN HOME REPAIR: Offers home repairs to senior citizens, low income and handicapped individuals. The amount allotted for emergency repairs cannot exceed $500. 

    5) EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER PROGRAM (FEMA): Provides a federal grant program to local non-profit agencies that assist low income residents. Funds are also used for food and emergency housing and to help displaced person find suitable housing thru charitable organizations.  

    6) SPECIAL LOAN PROGRAM: Provides various programs to improve single families and small rental properties for low and moderate income families. 

    7) RENTAL ALLOWANCE PROGRAM (RAP): Provides rent subsidies to low-income residents who are either homeless or have an emergency housing need. Monthly rental allowance payment for up to but not exceed 12 months.
