  • Citizens Assisting and Sheltering the Abused

    OVERVIEW: Provides support services to survivors of intimate partner violence and/or sexual assault as well as abusers.

    1) 24 HOUR HOTLINE: Available to answer questions and connect you to emergency services.  Calls are anonymous.  Language line interpretation services are available.  

    2) INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE/RAPE CRISIS PROGRAM: Provides short term crisis counseling focused on safety planning, learning about patterns and effects of intimate partner violence, and available resources.  Offers counseling for survivors of sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and/or intimate partner violence focused on continued safety planning, stabilization and support. 

    3) CHILDREN'S PROGRAM: Provides assessment and counseling to children and adolescents who have experienced family violence and/or abuse.  Works with local agencies to coordinate care and provide for needs.

    4) SUPPORT GROUPS: Offers trauma support groups for both adults and children.  Provides education, resources and a place for survivors to connect with each other through activities and discussions.

    5) LEGAL SERVICES: Offers accompaniment and help concerning divorce, custody and/or criminal proceedings and protection order hearings.

    6) ABUSER INTERVENTION PROGRAM: Offers group for men engaged in intimate partner abuse providing education on abuse, personal reflection, and skills to deal with stress, anger and conflict.

    7) MEDICAL ADVOCACY: Provides in-person support to survivors during forensic exams for both intimate partner violence and sexual assault.  Assists with scheduling follow up appointments and transportation.
