    OVERVIEW: Provides support services in the form of peer support and education for people who are affected by mental illness and their families.

    SERVICES:
    1) HELPLINE: During regular business hours, individuals living with a mental illness and their family members can call 301-949-5852 for information and referral about local resources, support groups, etc. This helpline is a "warm-line" and should not be used for counseling services, it is for information and referral only.

    2) EDUCATIONAL COURSES & PRESENTATIONS: Provides free educational courses for individuals and families available in Spanish & English. Provides presentations to the local community on research, treatment, housing, legislation, rehabilitation and coping with the brain disorders commonly called mental illness .

    3) SUPPORT GROUPS & MEETINGS: Available to individuals living with a mental illness and their family members. Provides practical information on how to cope with mental illness. Call the helpline or visit the website for meeting schedule.

    4) ADVOCACY: Advocates to improve and expand services and facilities, public and private, including research, treatment, rehabilitation and community based services for persons who have mental illness.
