EDUCATION: An 8 hour public education training program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents 12-18. Course builds understanding of the importance of early intervention and most importantly gives individuals the tools to recognize and help a youth in a crisis situation such as mental health or substance abuse challenge. Youth Mental Health First Aide is designed for adults who regularly interact with adolescents and can be appropriate for older adolescents to encourage peer to peer interaction.
