APPLICATION ASSISTANCE: Offers assistance with filling out online applications for unemployment, business grant and loan guidance and health insurance.
CITIZENSHIP INTEGRATION SERVICES: Helps new immigrants and other ethnic minorities integrate into American society comfortably. Assists with completing application forms and offers preparation classes for citizenship test. Some fees may apply. See website for additional information.
INTERPRETATION SERVICES: Provides interpretation services to a variety of settings throughout the community such as hospitals, medical facilities, private and commercial businesses, government agencies, and legal settings. Services available in more than 30 languages.
COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS: Provides a certificate-based training program for individuals to become community health workers who work with individuals to promote healthy behaviors, expand health literacy, and help individuals navigate the world of health insurance.
RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: Offers resident adults 55 and older the opportunity to volunteer in the community. If interested email firstname.lastname@example.org at 301-694-3355.
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE: Offers year-round English classes in three proficiency levels. Each level covers speaking, reading, and writing English. Classes are usually held on Thursday evenings.
COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR: Organizes an annual community health fair to provide FREE medical services from a variety of medical and behavioral health professions. Takes place in late October.
PRENATAL EDUCATION CLASSES: Organizes monthly educational “baby showers” on topics such as labor & delivery, nutrition, breastfeeding, postpartum & new baby care. At the end of each class, there are giveaways of baby supplies like clothes, diapers, and wipes
