FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides emergency financial assistance for utility turn-off notices (electric, gas, oil bills), rent payment assistance (if residing in Section 8 or subsidized housing, will only pay 1 month of rent), burial assistance and first month's rent. Will assess for other qualifying emergency needs.
FOOD PANTRY: Provides non-perishable and perishable food to eligible low income families and individuals. CAC is also Howard County's administering agency for the Emergency Food Assistance Program. Distributions for low income families and individuals are made through the pantry.
FIRST MONTH'S RENT: Assists paying first month's rent when an individual or family is moving into a new home. Maximum is $750.
